Thanks very much for the watch!   And for reading my fanfiction!

I have been pretty bad about finishing those stories.  They are stories I intend to finish, but I keep getting writer's block.  I seem to be most creative when I am traveling in Europe, so I hope I can do that soon again.  :-)

No problem! I was actually in Western Poland the last few days visiting a fellow HTTYD friend and fan.

Yes, I do plan to do this.  I have to make a convincing enough plot that people would enjoy to read, though :-)

Because the movie only takes place over two to four days and there are very few time skips other than the obviously traveling ones, you are kind of limited as to what Toothless can get up to during the movie itself. However, we don't exactly know that much about the events immediately before the movie, and that gives you some room to work there (perhaps Toothless has been pestering Hiccup to go exploring in order to find out more information about Drago [obviously the dragons call him something else] after other Night Furies warn Toothless that Drago is heading towards him. That would set Eret's and Valka's lines about Night Furies being "gone for good" about Night Furies if they and Drago had clashed in the past-and all died). Also, Toothless has a fairly large collection of scars by now, and as you established during his commentary of the Red Death's first appearance, which makes him more attractive in appearance. So if the movie takes place near or during mating season, it would explain all the attention Toothless receives when he arrives at the dragon sanctuary. You could also explain how Toothless doesn't know that much about an obvious threat to the dragons by stating that, unlike Toothless, the previous Signalers went insane from their separation from their own People (They didn't have someone like Hiccup there for them). In the end though, I feel that you will just have to settle for a novella rather than the novel you wrote for the first movie.

Thank you so much!  Those are FANTASTIC ideas!  I really appreciate this!  I do like the idea of the novella, too.  That does seem to make sense considering the condensed timeline in the second movie.  Your ideas are wonderful.  I'll certainly keep them in mind for the sequel ideas.  But I would ask you about using them and giving you credit for it, too.  Thanks, again!

Feel free to use them, I don't feel comfortable about writing fanfiction. I am perfectly comfortable with editing it though, and I am over halfway through revising this story, fixing typos, grammar errors, and revisions to make it more in line with both movies in order to make it truly feel like this was happening at the same time as HTTYD. However, as I am revising it in Microsoft Word, there is no way to send it to you via DA, so if you note my an email for me to send it to when I'm done it would be much appreciated. Feel free to use it to update the chapters on both DA and Fanfiction.net. Consider it my way of tipping my hat to you for writing a story that is every bit as good, and maybe even better than, the movie it was based off of.

I also just figured out a way you could explain how Toothless doesn't know about being able to split the fins along his spine- his mother expected his father to teach Toothless advanced flight and combat techniques and all of the other signalers in the region, both old and new, assumed that he already knew them. Again, feel free to use that. ;)

Also, have you ever considered traveling abound the amazing wonders of the west coast? Places such as Yellowstone, Craters of the Moon, Bryce, Zion, and Grand Canyons, The Avenue of the Giants, Crater Lake (that is an absolute must see), and the stunning, and unknown, Desolation Sound fjord system, a place that puts Yosemite to shame and can only be reached by boat. It is best seen during late spring/early summer when glacial melt water creates small waterfalls every dozen yards or so along the 3000 foot tall cliffs that lead to Chatterbox Falls. John and Kelly of the Emerald Lady are well connected among the Puget Sound sailing community and would be more than happy to put you in contact with someone who needs an extra hand (or two) to sail up to Desolation Sound.

Sorry I did not reply sooner.  We've been busy at work and communicating across 7 time zones has been interesting!

Thanks so much for the edits.  You are truly kind and generous.  It's a rare person who only reads fanfiction rather than write it.  I'm hoping you have lots of fanfic writers who appreciate your work.

Thanks for the fin explanation, too.  That is utterly brilliant!  It does fit in the story.

Yes, the West Coast of America is lovely.  I've been to several of those places.  I saw Bryce, Zion and Arches National Parks traveling with some college students when I was a tourism teacher.  We went in the winter, so it was really neat to see those areas with fewer tourists.  And there was snow in Bryce Canyon, so that was lovely.  I visited Yellowstone with my sister and brother and their daughters.  We camped out and cooked our meals and then hiked many of the trails. I was really surprised how much it seemed like Iceland on a bigger scale.   We also camped out in Rifle Gap State Park (Colorado) a few days and went whitewater rafting in Glenwood Springs and hiked up to Hanging Lake.  We drove the Beartooth highway into Montana where I parted company with them and went horseback riding in the area of the Little Bighorn Battlefield.

Craters of the Moon in Idaho is a place on my list since it was fitting in with an original historical fantasy in my mind.  I also really want to experience Olympic National Park in Washington State.  Thanks for the advice about the Desolation Sound fjord system.  That sounds really interesting and I might check that out!  I've not yet been to Washington State. Hopefully one day... it sounds nice,.

Thanks, again,  for the support!
